Case Studies: Siren Enterprises Theatre Productions - 'Cuban Charm' - London's First Filmatrical

Penny wrote and produced London's 'first filmatrical', a combination of film and theatre which ran at the Rosemary Branch Theatre in Islington this August.

Using film footage she shot in Havana, she devised a one woman show and love story supported by film projected onto a custom made screen in the auditorium.

The show was a sell out and had wide press and industry coverage including London's Time Out magazine.

The team of over 12 people working on the production created an all encompassing entertainment experience by hosting 'Suave Suave' after parties post the shows with Cuban DJ's, dancers and mohitos provided by brand sponsor Havana Club.

VJ's from Triggerset, London's leading VJ collective, worked in theatre for the first time and cut extra film footage into a set which was projected on the theatre screen during the party spanning two rooms.

Of course, we managed all our own PR and marketing to the theatre and film press! We are now seeking West End producers with a view to rolling out at a bigger venue.

Cuban Charm has been celebrated as one of the most innovative shows to hit London Fringe and our talented lead actor Julia Gwynne has secured a long run on another production in Bristol.
